Members shared mixed experiences with Celebrex for rheumatoid arthritis, with some finding it helpful for years while others reported it stopped working after a few months or caused stomach issues including ulcers. Several members emphasized the importance of taking Celebrex with food to protect the stomach, and many described a frustrating pattern where RA medications seem to lose effectiveness over time, requiring frequent changes in treatment. A recurring theme was the encouragement to communicate openly with doctors about what works and what doesn't, to never suffer in silence, and to advocate for switching back to a medication if it provided better relief.

Hi Carolyn, I am on Celebrex as needed and seems to help with my RA. You just have to be careful not to depend on it, as can irritate your stomach. I added you to my team. Hope you do well!

I took Celebrex a few years back. It worked for awhile, but nothing really works long term. At least that has been my experience.
I’m now on my 2nd infusion of Simponi and keeping my fingers crossed that it going to make me feel better.

Hi Carolyn. I took Naproxyn at one point, and I went off it as I didn't tolerate it well. I take 11 pills a day, from vitamins to real meds and OTC meds. (I take one baby aspirin before bed.) I don't get shots. I am allergic to a bunch of meds that I no longer take. I am on Celebrex, and I do pretty well with it. I haven't had any noticeable bad reactions. It has helped with the RA as well. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Celebrex didn't work very well for me meloxicam worked better. Then after a while it also stopped. Back to tylenol. and alive. DR. said that it's ok off and on again even with taking methotrexate.
