Has anyone had gastritis with their RA or know if there can be a link (not from medications either)- i was in ER all night with the most debiliatating pain i think ive ever had my heart rate was almost 200 and my bp was 151/103(my bp is normally like 115/80) i literally thought i was dying, the pain was so bad i passed out a few times. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I have gastritis because of the RA anti inflammatory medications and simply how stress, anxiety associated with the RA. RA does affect the gut so I've learned what to eat and not eat and the simply things like chamomile tea help calm the gastritis. I hope your recover soon.

Hi GASTRITIS, I was diagnosed with gastritis via endoscopy way back when(yrs). When It gets serious it is acute gastritis. I started having bouts of it at age 19 now 69 and it has gotten louder as the years have gone by. I feel that my gut issues and R/A are absolutely connected. I get better when I go completely gluten free. This is how I heal it: store brand tums, store brand liquid antacid, chamomile tea 2 cups (warm) all at once, store brand omeprazole or tagamet (maintenance meds), and I only eat biscuits or a plain warmed white flour tortilla during the flare-up 'for the baking powder in them'. I am very careful with these meds. I only use them like this in acute flare. Please seek counsel as they did find that I also had 'non-alcoholic-fatty liver disease'. I feel all is connected. I hope this helps. I am 'very sorry' to know that you are so ill. I have had flare-ups that were so bad I did not think that I would see the sun come up in the morning, it did and I was really drained, and really alone with my dis-ease. For me it is about 5 days to heal the acute phase. I hope that you get better, get well, and have quality in every day, Bev

I have had issues with gastritis. I avoid all leafy greens and most raw vegetables all of the time. This keeps mine under control. Yes, miserable, debilitating pain. I have psoriatic arthritis but haven’t had any additional issues with gastritis since my PsA diagnosis.
