Hi! I used to live in Frederick 20 years ago and was diagnosed with Palendromic Rheumatism by a Rheumatologist in Longmont. He explained it like a palendrom (a word read the same forward and backward like radar or kayak) is a word that’s essentially coming and going, this arthritis comes and goes too. He said for most people it eventually turns into full rheumatoid arthritis, which I did and have had ever since.

A rheumatoid factor (RF) level of 8.6 IU/mL is considered within the normal range, as normal levels are typically less than 15 or 20 IU/mL. However, having a negative RF does not rule out rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Key points to consider
- Negative RF: You can still have RA even if your RF is negative.
- Diagnosis: RA Show Full Answer

A rheumatoid factor (RF) level of 8.6 IU/mL is considered within the normal range, as normal levels are typically less than 15 or 20 IU/mL. However, having a negative RF does not rule out rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Key points to consider:
- Negative RF: You can still have RA even if your RF is negative.
- Diagnosis: RA diagnosis is based on a combination of symptoms, functional limitations, and other tests, such as anti-CCP.

It's important to discuss your symptoms and test results with a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis.
