I have bumps - called nodules. Ugly and can't do a damn thing about them.
Heberden’s nodes are bony swellings that form on your hands as a result of osteoarthritis. He came up with an explanation for these swellings. These bony growths generally occur on the finger joints nearest the fingertip, also called the distal interphalangeal joints.

I have nodules as well the palms of my hands. My fingers are contracted and I cannot straighten them any longer or use them. I have asked and asked about surgery for my hands various hand surgeons told me the degenerative damage from the rheumatoid arthritis cannot be reversed. Is the hardest thing for me to accept. My hands are horrible looking to me with all the deformities associated with my fingers. I am working on painting now which I I loved doing before this happened. Even if it is abstract. It is fun for me to see what I can create even though those hands that I used for so many years look so bad.
