What Is The Best Body Location To Self Inject?
I receive training to self inject the Methotrexate in the morning and was told that I have the option of abdomen or thigh. Any recommendation on which is more convenient or less painful? I have given my own allergy shots in the past and always did the thigh. Comments and opinions appreciated...

I keep all my diabetic supplies in a box with latches. I keep my insulin - both the pen and the vial there (good for 28 days out of refrigeration) as well as alcohol wipes, syringes, equipment for testing blood sugar, a small notebook for recording blood sugars and a pen. If I had to go collecting what I needed, I would be in big trouble. It works for me.
PeggyLewellen, you will love the citrate free Humira! No pain at all. I usually use the hair dryer to warm it up before I inject it and that works wonderfully. I can’t even feel the needle. Wonderful!
I do my Humira injections in my stomach and thighs, rotating locations each time. I have less site reaction in the thigh. With the new citrate-free Humira, the shots don’t hurt at all because they use a smaller gauge needle. They recommend rotating injection site to prevent scar tissue.
I used to use injections i seemed to injext in my thigh it was so easy just switched between each thigh . I no longer take injections. They all seemed to work for some time then seemed to stop, so my dr switched my meds. Hope everyone is foing well
Whiteroseart my theumy always made me go 6wks - 6 mo on a med before changing. You're on a few hard hitters. I never heard of that combo together. There's a good article under resources that lists the different meds if you want to read it before you go. My opinion is that your PCP & Rheumy should be your best friends. They should know what the other is doing & have your best interest. My Rheumy is cutting edge & my PCP doesn't always understand his theory but he knows that what's & why's & BOTH follow my labs!!! I have the best!! Everyone should!! It's your body & I'm responsible for my healthcare today. I am in charge! Therefor I demand that best I can have. My life's at stake here. If I don't get what they're doing, I find someone who can. It's my body, my right!
Ok, I'm off my soapbox. All I'm saying is there's a good article & trust your rheumy!!!
Good bless,
Karen
