I heard that they pass through your body before being absorbed.

I take a lot of supplements. I could probably take more but I get tired of swollowing pills. I take vitamin D because most people with RA are low on it. My doctor has put me on most everything I take. My Triglycerides stay high and my Cholesterol also. With my family history of heart problems he is trying to get those lower. He has me on Mega Red and Flaxseed oil for that. My bones were thinning so I’m on Citracal and Magnesium for my bones. I’m on B12 for energy. Then Cinnamon to keep my sugar down and Cummin for pain. I’m not really sure the Cummin helps. I take all these twice a day and a baby aspirin once a day to help keep my arteries in my heart open. I don’t take pain pills so 2Tylenol twice a day, 650 mg. That’s about 12 pills I wish I didn’t have to take. With my RA meds added I feel full of pills!

I can say I take more supplements than prescription medications. Are they helping? They're not hurting. And the body absorbs what it needs and gets rid of the excess. That's why your urine is bright yellow. At least this is what I have been told.

I feel better taking the vitamin supplements, but that is probably because I started taking them at the same time I started taking everything else. So do they help? They might help me or they could be a placebo. I will continue to take them just in case they are working.

I take prescription vitD2. My pain has abated enormously. Blood work showed I was low in D. Feeling good now. I hope everyone has the same outcome as I have had. Soft hugs my friends.

Vit D. As a low Vitamin D level (especially in Winter) can cause joint and muscle pain. Tried multiple other, magnesium, Turmeric, Pineapple... found they did not help but Vit D2 5000 iu a day helps a little.
