I never experienced that with methotrexate but I get like that from prednisone. Just taste like metal. Maybe rinse mouth out with listerine after brushing teeth or peroxide. Be careful if you do peroxide though don’t swallow and rinse with water afterwards. Or if you can handle it maybe a little apple cider vinegar diluted with water and that is actually supposed to be good for digestion so you can swallow that lol. Let me know if you have any luck. 😀

I get that taste too, yes it's hard to describe, but I think you did well. I take 25mg lMethotrexate once a week and 5mg folic acid 6 days a week which seems to have helped. I also suck strong mints which gives temporary relief.

I take 20 mg and the percriptiin says take 20 mg once a week followed by 5 mg folic acid 48 hrs after the mtx I see my rheumo on the 25th and I’ll ask if I can take within 24 hrs or do I have to take all at once. Ive been on it for 3 months and 1 week. I’m not as tired and sick as when first started. I feel a little better in a day 1/2 now where as when I first started I was deathly ill for the first 48 hrs. But the taste lasts for about 4 days still. I just dread having to take this stuff my weekends are shot and I love my pool and can’t even enjoy that. Took my mtx early this week though as am off work today and start my vacation for 2 weeks. Hoping my rheumo will change the mtx or someone said to request injections as the side effects are not as bad. We will see. One can only hope. What dose are you on ? I started taking 10mg of Methatrexate and when I first started this drug I did have that metallic kind of taste but then it went away.l I span my weekly dose into taking 1 pill with food at a time .. you have 24 hours to take your pills and you can span them any way you want. Example: I took 1st pill after midnight on Wed with a glass of milk, took pill#2 Thursday morning with breakfast, took Pill#3 later that afternoon, took Pill#4 last pill Thursday around 10pm with a glass of milk. Maybe that will help?

Have not had this problem. I just take the pills with orange juice once a week. Good luck in finding an answer. Blessings and hugs
