If your doctor feels that taking a probiotic is useless, then what is her issue in giving approval to take it? On another note, how long does it take for your doctor to give you an answer about something you ask anyway, shouldn't take more than a day.

How about Kombucha instead?

I also have been using a probiotic for quite a few years and it made me feel better while I was taking methotrexate (I am still taking it). My Doctor knew I was taking it as well and never said that I shouldn't.

I am taking the Methotrexate pills,I started having trouble with my legs and my RA doctor raised my Methotrexate to ten pills a week.Until the shortage of the injection Methotrexate is over,I will start the injection.

I’ve had rheumatoid for 20 years taking methotrexate humira and several other medications off and on but always methotrexate. I’ve had gut issues for about 5 years and have wanted to try probiotics but all of them say do not take if you have an immune superseded condition so I was always nervous to try them but my rheumatologist says they have to say that. So I started them today. Does anyone else take probiotics while on these meds? I also took sulfasalazine for several years and for the last year I’ve had anxiety and panic attacks. I finally mentioned it to my rheumatologist and she said stop the sulfasalazine as she has another patient that had same problem. All panic attacks and anxiety are gone now that I no longer take sulfasalazine. I hope this helps someone else. Please let me know about probiotics and methotrexate and biologics. Thanks
