My RA Factor Is 19. Does That Mean I Have A Slight Case Of RA ?
I also have severe fatigue all I feel like doing is sleeping.
When I first was diagnosed in October my RA marker was pretty low too, however the pain didn’t seem mild. By the time I went back to see my doc in February I had joint pain everywhere, swelling everywhere, high inflammation...I don’t currently know my marker but was told it is progressing pretty fast even with treatment. So we changed meds and since then have had to multiply my dose. Go back to my doc end of the month...having flares and a lot of pain, noticed toes are starting to turn in a little. So this 8 month journey started very slow, but progressed fast. So don’t base souly on the markers I guess is what I’m trying to say. Yes they help but it doesn’t show how fast it will effect you. You know how you feel and only you know when something isn’t right. So keep your doc posted and up to date.
Wow, 19 is really low, barely a marker for RA. Talk to your doctor about other tests that can be done to verify the RA or if there are other autoimmune diseases you might have.
my daughter has Addison's disease, hypothyroidism and Sjogren's. When our rheumy did blood work for the Sjogren's she also checked for RA. She did have a low marker for it but the rheumy said it wasn't anything to worry about.
There are other tests that are better at predicting prognosis....have you had your anti-ccp tested....studies show a relationship between that and RA severity.
