My Rheumatologist focus mostly on my pain level and I can't talk to him about other issues that are trigored due to having RA. I have Mobility Issues, Depression and Fatigue. He doesn't seem to care when I bring up the subject.

Members overwhelmingly encouraged finding a new rheumatologist in response to someone feeling dismissed when trying to discuss mobility issues, depression, and fatigue beyond just pain management. Several members shared that a good rheumatologist should address all aspects of RA or refer patients to appropriate specialists, with some finding success by having their primary care doctor coordinate care and recommend a more compassionate specialist. A recurring theme was that doctors should treat the whole person, not just prescribe medications, and that patients deserve providers who truly listen and care about their complete well-being.

My rheumatologist is the same but I am lucky as my GP will listen and I feel more comfortable talking to him anyway. He write to my rheumatologist and tells him if I have any difficulties.

He should care and make note of other problems. He should recommend someone else to help you if he can't. I would ask him that. My primary care doctor overseas all my docs by recommending new specialists. They are all very busy so need your help by you asking questions. I did change doctors and found a woman doctor who cared about the pain and difficulties of RA and complications.
Hope this helps,
Sandy
