Aqua Therapy is one of the best ways to move our RA that dosen't put direct impact on our muscles and joints. We live in such a rural area there is no where to just go to a pool for Aqua thereapy. My Dr has actually reccomended this type of treatment since i was young, but how do you convience your spouse ? How nice would it be if a script could be wrote for this or someway to help us out. We are currently paying over a thousand dollars a month just in scripts, infusions and dr.'s visits alone… read more

Warm water really does help. Check for a YMCA in your area, most have an indoor heated pool and offer water arobics.

Hi Nichole, do you take any medication for cryobulemia? RA on its own is tough enough, sorry to hear you have additional ailments to contend with....stay strong

Becky we live on a lake and everybody will get so furious with me and they just don’t believe me when I tell them it makes my body hurt worse . It would be 100 degrees but If that water is cold I’m just not getting in it. It’s the aftermath I just recently found it I have a condition called cryobulemia and it’s where your body can’t control its body temp . So what happens when we feel like our bones and joints are frozen or frost bit it’s because the blood and plasma has gelled up in our legs . At this point we need to apply heat . Wrap up in an electric blanket and heating pads !!

I wish we had somewhere to go but we literally have absolutely no where

LOVE water therapy as long as its in s warm water pool. If the water is less than about 90 deg you will stiffen & feel worse. Warm water will help you with range of motion, ,keeping your joints loose & muscles relaxed. I 100% recommend it. Your husband can even join you! If you go to the Arthritis Foundation website you can find locations. A lot of the newer nursing homes that have a rehab association have pools that you might be able to use.
