Have You Taken Xeljanz

Hi everyone. I'm starting Xeljanz this week and I was wondering about your experience if any of you have taken it. I hate to say it sounds a lot like Actemra which I had a tough time with only Xeljanz is pill form. Thank you in advance for your response. Corrie

I was on it for a year and and half for a research program through my doctors office. I was eligible because I have been on methotrexate for quite awhile and they wanted people who have been on that to see how the Xeljanz worked. I did wonderful on it . I had no pain what so ever! I could actually do things I haven’t been able to do for years. But then the research came to an end.😞 since I have been in terrible pain in every joint I have.i can not afford the co-pay for this medicine. It’s very expensive. I called The Pfizer company who make it and filled out forms for financial help. I may be getting it for free or for a very small co-pay that I can afford. Praying for the best outcome. I hope you do well on it! God bless!

@A myRAteam Member, actually Xeljanz is working out pretty well for me. I do have to get bloodwork every 6 weeks. My first bloodwork was great. I was concerned about the weight gain as well I was actually terrified but I have lost weight. I think I've lost about 5 lbs and it's great for hair growth as well. I recently learned it's used for alopecia. I now see hair growing in areas that were bald. Anyway, whatever you decide or should I say the insurance decide, I wish you the best. 🌷🌷

Not to scare you- but, I got a yr of constant and multiple infections after taking xeljanz for 2 months. Watch out for infection. Good thing abt daily pills is you can quit quickly.
I know ppl who had good luck with it and no problems. None of us know until we try. Be brave and positive. Getting our immune system under control is our mission.

The specialty pharmacy I need to use for this specialty prescription told me to call Pfizer and enroll in co-pay assistance. They simply asked me a few questions and then gave me the card info to provide to the pharmacy. The phone is (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators). Perhaps this is worth a try? Good luck!
