Members shared mixed but mostly positive experiences with leflunomide for rheumatoid arthritis, with many reporting it worked well for them, especially when combined with biologics like Simponi, Enbrel, or Orencia, though some noted it took time to kick in. Several members described side effects including hair changes (falling out, becoming curly or frizzy), mild headaches, insomnia if taken at night, bowel issues, rashes, and fatigue, with the consistent advice being to have liver function monitored regularly by a doctor. A recurring theme was that while methotrexate was poorly tolerated by many, leflunomide offered a more manageable alternative that helped control symptoms when paired with other medications and lifestyle changes like anti-inflammatory eating, rest, and exercise.

I think fatigue is a side effect of most of these are a drugs. The best thing to do I found is to eat anti-inflammatory foods get lots of rest and exercise.

It's interesting about the frizzy hair. I thought it was just the humidity outside but my hair is really frizzy also. It's usually really straight. I take leflunomide and Orencia
