Hair Loss With Treatments

Not sure what is causing hair loss, sulfasalazine, steroid jag or ant inflammatory s. Tried stopping the sulphasalazine for a couple weeks, but didn't make any difference. Pain is def the worse of two evils, but I am worried I am going to get patches at this rate.....has any one experienced this??

Add a Biotin supplement along with a good prenatal vitamin. The prenatal is better because all the RA meds block normal vitamin absorption. It has really helped me with my hair loss.

Yes she actually told me to take a prenatal because it is higher in folic acid which you really need with RA meds especially methotrexate.

I lost a lot of my hair at first when I was on methotrexate. As a hairstylist I had access to wigs and wore them for awhile..My hair was already fine and somewhat thin.

Hi, have also been experiencing hair loss like clumps coming out. It could be the RA or like you am on sulfasalazine and also hydroxychloroquine and they can also enhance. My hair is soooo much thinner and at a loss of what to do really as I don't want to loose my hair :(
