How does one cope with needing to lie down and rest because your body insists on it but mentally you want to remain active?

When u figure that one out let me know😀 it's a real surprise when you go to do something you were at one time able to only to find out that you can't ..... Can't isn't in my dictionary so I just put it off until I can. And it's really great when you find out you can do something again that you couldn't ..

Don't beat yourself @A myRAteam Member this is not an easy road. I have beat myself up for over a year and cried my eyes out because I can't do the things I use to do. I kept telling my husband I feel useless. But we are sick and it's not our fault. Hugs to you and hug yourself.

Hi Pamela, i get up at 4:00-4:30 in the morning to be to work by 7:00 am. (I am not that bad looking in the that I need that much time) heheh! I get up eat a yogurt take my prednisone so my joints un-stiff a little bit so I can even open the shampoo bottle. By the time I get home from work I am exhausted. I found that I want to do things but my body doesn't. So I set the alarm on my cell phone for an hour. Most times I don't go to sleep, but just resting for about an hour helps me to get back up and fix dinner. Of course we usually don't eat until 8:00 pm. I think the biggest thing is acceptance and sometimes I can accept I can't keep going, but sometimes I push and it makes the RA worse in the long run.
If you feel like you need to rest, rest that is what your body is telling you even if your brain is telling you no to. Even if you take 20 minutes to close your eyes and relax that helps me. I hope some of this makes sense. Hugs to you! I know how you feel.
