Anti CCP Strong Positive 3 Years Ago, Now Negative?

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone tested a strong positive for anti CCP then tested negative? I've been treated for 3 years now. I'm showing some tiny bone erosions in both hands now. I've had a total hip replacement due to osteonecrosis and severe OA. My rheumatologist offered a research study for a bio similar of rituxan, but my RF and Anti CCP are both negative. I still have pain and swelling in multiple sites. How can your anti CCP go from 137 and now be .5??

Have you had a Vectra Da blood test ? My RA doesn't show up with normal RA testing . There is a web site for this test. vectrada.com .

Mine was 260 with a normal RF factor. Almost 2 years later the RF was 530. My rheumatologist said that they normally don't change to normal. She explained this when I asked why they don't do repeat tests after being diagnosed for awhile. The fact that yours actually went back closer to normal is very interesting. What did your rheumatologist say?

They usually say one or the other is positive, could be early stages of ra, I'm not sure myself on a scale beginning with mild to moderate to severe, or "inflammatory athritis" .Such a hard disease, has a mind of its own. There's times when I've gotten my blood work done on my worst days thinking my inflammation levels would be through the moon, and have just the opposite happen, they were lower, so not sure. If you find out please share

I started with a positive ccp 4 years ago with intense hand pain. Been on Mtx, then biologics since Recent retesting showed it to be negative. My symptoms have changed from hand and foot pain to random body pain and/or just stiffness. I have a bit of osteo on X-rays. My rheumy isn’t sure I ever had RA, now. I’ve never had the classic swelling. Vectora tests showed some improvement but I haven’t had one in awhile. I don’t know what to think. She wants to pull me off humira but I’m worried about doing so.
