Does Everyone Work? Can You Have Disability From RA? I Want To Work But , I'm So Tired Of Having To Push Myself So Hard Everyday.
I did the rituxan in infusions, which didn't work for me. I take fosamax for my bones and it's helped my hair get thicker.
No, haven't been on infusions yet. I do take topamax, which is bad about causing hair thinning as well. Im really trying to stay on top of it. It has thinned a little, but not like what others have reported. My iron is so low and appetite so poor it would be hard to pin down on one thing.
Hello all .... I am new to this board and also newly diagnosed (2016) with RA as well as lupus and pseudo tumor cerbri ... I am 43 and a nurse and this has been very difficult being the patient I am trying to continue to work I am very passionate about my job but suffering from being immunsupressed getting ready to start rutuxin infusions and worried about the side effects of this drug already suffering fatigue as well hair loss with methotrexate .. any other nurses out there suffering with trying to work when unable to take care of sick pts? I am starting to feel really down over this all!!
I do work right now, diagnosed 6 yrs ago. I read that after 5 yrs,50% of R/A sufferers are on disability. You do qualify! I'm not quite ready yet. Good luck!
I am an LVN and I am taking weekly methotrexate shots. I am a medsurg floor nurse and frequently am exposed to staph, wounds, flu etc. I have taken it several months and it has really helped the fatigue. My dr prescribed the leucovorin instead of folic acid to prevent hair loss. I also take biotin. I am careful around air born more than ever and wear a mask. I gown up like always with staph wounds and take every precaution everytime. I havent had any issue. My issue is the erosion on my left ankle and the pain in my legs.
