Started Remicade Infusions. Any Thoughts? Experiences?
I started Remicade last week. Drink lots of water and dress comfy. My infusion was about two hours. It made me tired and exhausted for a few days after.
Sorry, my experience with infusions started in April with Rituxan (2 infusions, 2 weeks apart and repeating in 6 months and almost always done with a methotrexate regimen) and we are starting to schedule the next pair of infusions)
Remicade has helped me with the pain more so than methotrexate, Humira, and inflectra. Of course there is still a little bit at times and swelling but pain is more manageable than anything else. I haven’t had any bad side effects but I noticed I was tired after this last treatment. I’m there for about 3 hours from start to finish. I also take Lyrica and Cymbalta for polyneuropothy, Leflunomide and Hydroxychloroquine for RA/ Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease as well.
Love it. Worked miracles with no side effects. Gave me my life back. Very little pain and pretty much fully functional.
I was on Remicade for about 6 years, with hardly any side effects, then I started to have reactions, and it just stopped being effective. As most do after a time. It really depends on the individual. Everyone's body is different. Good Luck. I hope it helps relieve your RA symptoms.
Blessings to you and yours
