Has Anyone Tried Turmeric For Inflammation? If So, Does It Help?
I put Turmeric in just about everything I cook. I personally think it helps keep the swelling lower, if not the pain.
If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got- imflammation wise! I used to start my day with a big glass of water and a cup of green tea. Today, I tried something different- 1/2 cup of coconut milk, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 tablespoon turmeric, and a little stevia warmed lightly, and drank it 1st thing this morning... Yes! It works better than Ibuprofen!! Kept me pain free for 6 hours!!
@A myRAteam Member, yes, gluten-free absolutely works! I also use cinnamon and honey daily in my turmeric tea.
Susan, I take turmeric, cinnamon, honey and ginger, incorporating all kinds of the stuff into my diet. I follow a pretty strict anti-inflammatory diet with no meat except fish (my rheummy says that all meat is inflammatory and bad for you), I eat no gluten at all ever. Lots of whole gluten free grains, nuts, seeds, fresh fruits and veggies, healthy oils and salmon or ahi tuna two servings per week. I have found this has helped me tremendously, but I am highly disciplined about it. I lost weight which makes it easier on my joints and back as a boon, and on this type of diet, you are never really hungry. We're all different, but it helped me a lot.
@A myRAteam Member, I use Ceylon Cinnamon only. Also, I use all forms of turmeric, the powder, liquid by Hemani, and whole root. I use the whole root Turmeric, whole root Ginger, Ceylon Cinnamon and black pepper to make my tea and add honey. I drink it a few times a day.
