Cannabis??

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭
Mukilteo, WA

Has anyone used cannabis to treat their pain? I live in Washington so it's readily available, but I haven't tried it yet. I don't want to be high, I just want to ease the pain and get about with the rest of my day. Is it possible with this? If so how much do I use and through what method?

I also live in Wa and have my medical card. Initially I was only using so I could sleep. But since I was diagnosed with fibro I have started exploring more. The strains that are high in CBD work really well for pain. I have found the ACDC strain works really well for me and doesn't make it so I can't still function. I will take a hit or two and be good for hours. Best of luck to you.

I have been using cannabis since I was first diagnosed with RA (23 years). The Indica plant is higher in CBD and works better for pain, but it puts me in a coma (so to speak), so I use it at bedtime to relax. I tried using straight CBD oil, but I could only get it in 25% concentration, so relief was minimal. I think if I could find a 50% strength, I could do away with pain pills. Get a medical card and experiment with different strains until you find one that works best for you. Good luck!!

If anyone is looking for information about Medical Cannabis or Medical Marijuana (if it's legal in your state) You can get some excellent medical information about it at Healer.com. I have found that medical cannabis has helped a lot with my pain. I take a high CBD tincture oil and also a tincture with a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio. Depending on the dose and the ratio you get different kinds of pain relief. Topicals can be good too. Try to find a lab tested product that tells you the profile of the cannabinoids, and terpenes in the product. It is individual, but worth looking into for pain control. You can find pain relief without getting the intoxicated high effect if you find the right product.

I've been smoking medical marijuana since I was first diagnosed with RA (23 years). You don't need much (2 or 3 small hits) and if you vaporize it or use a water pipe, it's easier on your lungs. I haven't had one problem with my lungs in all that time.
