Does Anyone Have Dry Eyes Along With RA? If Yes, How Are You Treating Your Condition?

I was diagnosed with Dry Eyes two years after being diagnosed with RA. I start my day with a hot/moist compress and eye drops throughout the day. I have tears - my problem is that my lower eye glands are clogged. I see an Opthalmologist routinely. If you have Dry Eyes, your ideas are welcome.

In July I had surgery removing the lense in my left eye because it was consumed with a cataract caused by a combination of RA and diabetes. I was told that dry eyes were common with RA and to try natural tears and if I had to use them more than the recommended dose on the box to let the Dr know and I would get a prescription. Unfortunately, there is not much else you can do however; I would try to stay away from the hot compress because I was told that it can cause swelling at the back of your eye making the dry eye symptoms worse. Hope this helps.

I also have dry eyes. So far, I just use natural tears eye drops 2-3 times a day. I do have cataracts but they are not bad enough for surgery--yet.

I have chronic dry eye due to RA. I use reststis 2x a day & over the counter drops 6 to 8 x a day. Then a gel during the night as I often wake up & can't open my eyes they r so dry.

My right eye was tearing all the time for the past couple months. I went to the eye Dr. a couple weeks ago. My oil glands are completely atrophied due to inflammation, so it was tearing up all the time to compensate. My Dr. prescribed Xiidra twice a day and Refresh Mega 3 also twice a day He was surprised that it was mostly only on the right side (so far). But, that's how RA works, right? I have RA, but haven't been diagnosed with Sjogren's yet. I work with computers. I only have 4 years to retirement and I'm trying really hard to make it!
