Ashley is a doctoral candidate at the University of Colorado, where she studies the noncoding RNAs involved in gammaherpesvirus pathogenesis. She has long loved both science and literature, and she earned her Bachelor of Science in biology at Regis University while completing her minor in English. Ashley was inspired to pursue science writing during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to help people understand how viruses work. She is a native of Colorado and lives in Denver with her wonderful wife and charismatic cat.
